Snow Polo at Klosters

From 16th to the 20th January 2008, two arena polo tournaments organised by The Alpine Polo Club will take place at Klosters in Switzerland, the Berenberg Snow-Polo and the La Prairie Ladies Polo.Six men’s teams with a team handicap of 9 goals, 4 ladies teams with a team handicap of 4 goals, 30 polo players and more than 100 polo ponies are taking part. The overture will take place on 16th Wednesday with the second edition of the worldwide only ladies tournament on snow.
The Berenberg Snow-Polo tournament is the first worldwide polo tournament on snow which is played by night. It is an arena polo tournament, played by three players per team in an arena of 300 feet in length by 150 feet in width. International top players from Switzerland, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland and South Africa will form six men’s teams and four ladies’ teams.
All games, except the finals, are played at night. The artificial “moon-illumination” creates a special and unique atmosphere. The Polo-Village with the snow arena is located in the heart of Klosters.
