Guards Polo Club welcomed its President, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh to Smith’s Lawn on 14th April to open the Club’s newly refurbished Royal Box.
Prince Philip was met by the Club’s Chairman, Jock Green-Armytage and Chief Executive Neil Hobday. He was then introduced to the Club’s Vice President Lt Col Sean O’Dwyer and several of our patrons who have supported this refurbishment project. This included Jo and Joachim Gottschalk, Alan Fall, Vivek Rawal and Jonathan Munro Ford.
The President was also introduced to the Club’s Chief Steward David Dickman and Royal Box Steward Sarah Anderson, who have overseen the work. A hallmark of the new interior is the inclusion of HRH Prince Philip’s cypher in the banister.
